Simpson Strong-Tie MSTA12SS Stainless Steel 18 Gauge Straps are one of various strap ties that can transfer tension loads between two wood members. MSTA series straps are designed to be used on the edge of 2x material. The nailing pattern helps reduce the chances of the wood splitting. When using a MSTA strap that requires bending the strap can only be bent one time.

Type 316L Connector Stainless Steel Information
Type 316L stainless steel is a nickel-chromium austenitic grade of stainless steel with 2-3% Molybdenum. Type 316L stainless steel is not hardened by heat treatment and is inherently nonmagnetic. It provides a level of corrosion protection suitable for severe environments, especially environments with chlorides. Type 316L stainless-steel fasteners are compliant with the 2012 and 2015 IBC and IRC.
