The Simpson Strong-Tie HD12 Holdown is a self jigging anchor that ensures the bottom bolt that attaches to the stud or post is seven times the diameter of the bolt. This holdown can obtain a wide variety of allowable tension loads depending on the thickness of the posts and the anchor bolt used. The HD12 must be connected to a minimum of 3-1/2" of material.

Simpson Strong-Tie Gray Paint is a water-based paint intended to only protect the product while it is being warehoused and in transit to the jobsite. For additional protection you should consider adding another coating of paint or ordering hot dipped galvanize products when available.
