Hitachi's CR13VBY 12 Amp Reciprocating Saw features a patented new technology called UVP
(User Vibration Protect.ion). The adverse health effects to a user from vibration produced by power tools is a hot issue being addressed at this time. Hitachi's UVP technology reduces the overall vibration produced by the motor and therefore drastically lessens the vibration transfer to the user of the tool. A counterweight mechanism reduces full-load triaxial vibration by over 65%. A swing cutting mechanism located near the blade lessens the "rebound" effect that is normally created from a traditional orbital action cut. In addition to less vibration, the CR13VBY produces a faster cut in steel and wood as compared to competitive models.
