Hitachi Hardiblades have 5 times longer cutting life than other diamond tipped blades and 30 times longer than traditional carbide blades.

Unlike any other blade in its class, the Hardiblade is a polycrystalline diamond tipped blade. The PCD tips have a layer of diamond that covers the entire cutting surface of each carbide tooth body. Current four-tooth diamond blades on the market are made through a process called chemical vapor deposition. CVD creates a diamond coating by using the decomposition of high vapor pressure gases. The method used on the Hardiblade, PCD, employs microwave heating to harden and bond a surface layer of powdered diamond to the tungsten carbide tooth body. Consequently Hitachi Power Tools Marketing Coordinator Justin Bales affirms that, “Current CVD blades provide a thin surface treatment or diamond coating whereas Hitachi’s Hardiblade actually has a distinguishable layer of diamond that is bonded to the carbide tip body.”

Recommended by the makers of James Hardie Building Products for its superior endurance capabilities, the innovative four-tooth configuration of the Hardiblade allows for fast low-dust cutting versus continuous rimmed blade grinding. This blade was designed for multi-plank cutting and allows for efficient clean gang cuts on up to five planks in one pass. The Hitachi Hardiblade is recommended for use with Hardiplank and Hardipanel Siding Products, Hardibacker Interior Products and other James Hardie Building Products.
